DCA Instruments is a Finnish high-tech company that manufactures ultra-high vacuum systems for thin film coating. The company develops solutions for Molecular Beam Epitaxy, Physical Vapor Deposition and Pulsed Laser Deposition processes, serving the world’s leading research institutions and manufacturing environments.
A pioneer in ultra-high vacuum technology
My responsibility has been to describe the company’s entire product category, highlighting the company’s cutting-edge technology and carefully designed equipment. The products are very challenging to shoot and require careful finishing in image processing. Each step of the process requires special high-end equipment to ensure accuracy, quality and efficiency.
The high-resolution images I produced are used extensively on the company’ s website, brochures, marketing materials and international trade fair stands, supporting DCA Instruments’ innovative and technologically advanced brand.
The processing and finishing of the images play a big role, and I do this in layers. For example, this image is a composite of 25 separate images to ensure that every detail is captured with the greatest accuracy and quality.
Each product has a huge amount of detail. I compose images using specialist techniques , using dedicated product imaging equipment and software, and workflows I have developed over the years to ensure that every detail is captured accurately and in detail.
The high-resolution deep product images are available in a wide range of backgrounds, allowing flexible use for different marketing and presentation purposes.
Working on such products, which are up to 8 metres wide and difficult to illuminate and film, is engineering and technical – very challenging, but hugely rewarding.
