People increasingly appreciate that a company has a face. It gives you credibility and makes it easier for your customers to approach your company.
Before the profile photoshoot, it’s important to think about what kind of visual vision you want to give about you and your company. Casual, formal or perhaps a mix of both? It is important that the images reflect the personality of the brand.
Here are a few ideas to think about and agree with me before you take a staff photo. This creates a cohesive branding look for your imagery and gives you the best possible longevity.
Atmosphere
Do we shoot with a bright background and lighting or does your brand suit a slightly darker and more atmospheric style?
Size of images
Do you want face photos, half body photos or full body photos? Will the images be displayed on the website, social media or possibly also on printed materials such as a brochure? We can indeed photograph all of these, but it’s good to know this mainly in terms of clothing choice. And knowing this beforehand helps me to build the lighting.
Clothing
Wear clothes that you really feel comfortable in for your photo shoot. Clothing should be well-groomed and fitted, to give the photo a professional feel. Again, it’s worth remembering your own industry and personality. Naturalness and realism are the order of the day. A basic rule when it comes to clothing colouring is that simple works best. For example, in a shirt, a solid colour is often a clearer choice in a photo and better shows off the face and character. But the fact is, the customer wants to see your face!
Do you wear glasses? If you want, you can shoot with or without glasses and see immediately what works best.
If you have agreed to shoot with a green screen and change the background to a different one in image processing, avoid green colours in your outfits.
Shoes
For women, I recommend wearing high heels rather than low shoes. The heels straighten the posture and this is useful even in close-ups, even if the shoes are not visible in the photo. This is also a industry-specific issue, and of course not all photos are suitable for high heels, but it’s something to think about.
Make-up and hairstyle
For women, make-up should be properly primed, including the neck area. Make your makeup a little stronger than everyday makeup, because with studio flashes your basic makeup may not show up well enough.
It’s a good idea to come to the shoot with clean hair and a hairstyle that makes you look your best.
Please let me know in advance if you want a professional hair stylist and hairdresser for the shoot.
Duration of photoshoot
Depending on scale of the photoshoot, it usually takes 5-10 minutes per person. In this time, you can already take a very comprehensive set of photos.
How many photos you get
A few dozen photos will be taken, and the best of them will be published in a photo bank. From there, you can view and select the images you want, which will then be given a final finishing touch with premium image editing. The number of images depends entirely on your needs and is negotiable.
With a smile and a relaxed vibe
Do you feel insecure in front of the camera or think that there’s no way to get good pictures of you? Great, the challenge has been accepted! If it’s any consolation, most of us don’t feel that we are attractive in front of the camera lens. But here you have to rely on the experience of a professional photographer and his ability to create atmosphere.
My own clients often say that they were so nervous for nothing and that the whole photoshoot was actually a fun experience.
Delivery of photos
I will provide you an online Image Bank where you can download the ready images.
What could be better than a picture of a stylish professional smiling or laughing in the photo.
I hope this information was helpful and please let me know if you have any questions, wishes or thoughts. A warm welcome to the photo shoot!
